News from the Village

Hello everyone! I'm sorry it takes so long to update the blog - I hope it's worth the wait! Since the last update, we have had quite an eventful month in Palapye. We finished the first term of school and are now on a month-long break before second term begins. I have to praise God for this first term. The students were so receptive to what we are teaching, several have prayed to receive Christ, and many of them have questions about becoming Christians. Please continue to pray for the students as we are making plans for Bible studies and discipleship groups to begin next term.

Things at church are also going well. We have begun several new ministries that just continue to grow. Emily is leading a children's choir, Crystal has a soccer outreach on Friday afternoons, and I teach a dance class on Tuesdays. Some church members have been able to invite friends and family to these events who would not attend church otherwise. Praise God!

There are so many other things to share - funny stories, moments of missing home, new friendships, God's voice speaking, beautiful landscapes (I could go on and on) - but there is no way to write about them all. I just want to thank you all for your prayers, e-mails, letters, etc. and ask that you continue to pray. I will leave you with one final thought.

Emily gave the children a memory verse to learn this week: Luke 11:9. As I was thinking about this verse as well as verse 10 (And I tell you, ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.), I realized just how much God has blessed this journey so far. God is so good and I am continually amazed by what He is doing here in Botswana.
