Easter in Africa
Hello friends and family! Things have been a whirlwind of activities, meetings, events, etc. since I last posted. We have been on break from school since April 7th, but nothing has slowed down yet! We showed The Passion of the Christ at church and had about 50 people from the community attend. More than 20 of them showed an interest in learning more about becoming a christian. Several days later, we held a game day for the kids and they had a ball! There is a picture of them playing above. Easter weekend we attended something called Easter Rally where all the Baptist churches in Botswana come together to worship and fellowship. It was a cultural experience for sure - but it was a lot of fun to worship together with nationals as we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus! Last week we attended our annual meeting for all the missionaries in our area (Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe). It was really nice to meet all the missionaries and hear about their ministries all around southern Africa. Plus, it was good to get away and just hang out with the other journeymen for a few days. Please be in prayer for school as 2nd term begins next week and I'll be following up with students who expressed interest in knowing Christ. Pray for those we will be meeting with as they had questions after seeing The Passion of the Christ. Also be in prayer for our health as Crystal, Emily, and I have all been sick over the last few weeks. As always, thank you for your prayers, e-mails, cards, letters, and packages! I love you all! I'll leave you with a verse that has really spoken to me in the last few days. Reminds me to stop putting God in a box - He really is in control of it all!
"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever he wishes." ~Proverbs 21:1
