

Carl and Kay Garvin along with Emily and I were a team as we explored Washington D.C. We met some Africans and shared with them what we would be doing in Africa over the next several years. We also ate at a West African restaurant and sampled several dishes. All of the dishes included rice and chicken. Carl had peanut butter sauce and Kay chose the Jollaf rice. Emily and I had greens with ours - hers was Cassava leaves and mine was Krain-Krain or Jute leaves. The food was good - although the greens left behind a strange yellow stain. Jollaf rice was the best choice!
